jSD’s GREEN THREAD INITIATIVE

12 STEPS TO SUSTAINABILITY

For jSD clients, uniforms and other custom workwear are making an increasingly valuable and visible contribution to the circular economy – from eco-aware designs and responsible manufacture to planned end-of-life disposal.

Email sales@jsd.co.uk or call +44 208 563 5000 for a checklist of 12 step-by-step ways uniforms can support your own company’s sustainability goals. The list is part of a Green Thread Initiative developed by jSD in collaboration with clients, suppliers and end-wearers to eliminate the operational, cost and other obstacles to sustainability throughout the lifecycle of clothes at work.

THE GREEN THREAD RANGE

Alongside sustainable new designs for clients, dating back to the Body Shop’s first all-natural uniform in 1994, jSD has developed a Green Thread Range of gilets, aprons, polos and other readily available workwear – all customisable and sustainably sourced.

A STEP-BY-STEP APPROACH

jSD’s resources and adaptable approach make is possible for any brand to start the migration of their staff to sustainable work clothing today without disruption or waste in a managed, step-by-step transition. The journey is organised by jSD around each client’s unique brand, specific needs and existing operations – because no-one is uniform.

SET UP AN AUDIT

To set up a Green Thread Audit of your company’s existing workwear, including a read-out of suggested next steps, quick wins and future options, sales@jsd.co.uk or call +44 208 563 5000. This audit also provides a valuable baseline for metrics plotting the on-going contribution of uniforms to your corporate sustainability goals.

jSD is itself fully ISO14001 compliant, and all jSD suppliers are required to adhere to a jSD contractual code of core ethical and sustainability standards. jSD is an active member of SEDEX [Supplier Ethical Data Exchange].

For 40 years Jermyn Street Design has helped clients lead innovation in the design of uniforms – not least in the critical contribution clothes can make to sustainability. Today more than ever our clients and their staff are inspiring, committed partners in this drive and our Green Thread Initiative
