In retail, presentation is everything. The right retail uniforms not only reflect your brand personality but also ensure comfort and confidence for every member of your team.
At JSD, every uniform is completely bespoke, designed from the ground up to align with your visual identity, brand values and customer experience. Our approach to retail uniform design focuses on the details that define your store atmosphere, from cut and colour to material performance.
Whether you’re a luxury retailer or operating in high-footfall travel retail, our retail staff uniforms are created to feel premium, perform effortlessly and represent your brand with consistency across every location.

We understand that retail roles vary widely — from customer-facing positions to stock and operations, and each comes with its own set of practical needs.
That’s why we work closely with our clients to design retail staff uniforms that meet the day-to-day realities of your team while aligning with your brand values and environment.
Our retail uniforms are built around performance and comfort, using fabrics that offer breathability, durability and flexibility. Stretch materials and easy-care finishes support long hours and freedom of movement, ensuring your team always feels confident and comfortable.
Features such as wrinkle resistance, smart layering and discreet functional details like concealed fastenings or secure pockets are included where relevant, enhancing practicality without compromising appearance. This attention to detail has defined standout projects such as our award-winning retail uniforms for Ocado.
Inclusivity remains central to our approach. Every retail worker uniform range is developed with adaptable sizing, considered fits and multiple style options, helping every team member feel professional, valued and part of your brand.

We’ve been designing bespoke retail uniforms for over 40 years, helping leading brands across the UK and internationally look and feel their best.
What sets JSD apart is our fully collaborative, end-to-end process. We begin with in-depth consultations, where we take the time to understand your brand, customer expectations, and operational challenges. Our team then moves into creative concept development, presenting mood boards, colour palettes, and design sketches tailored to your unique needs.
Fabric sourcing is a key part of our process, with sustainability and durability at the forefront.
We carry out rigorous fabric testing to ensure comfort, performance, and longevity.
Initial designs are sampled and shared with your team for feedback, before conducting wearer trials to gather real insights from those who will wear the uniforms every day. Based on this feedback, we make refinements to perfect both form and function.
Once designs are finalised, we manage production with our carefully audited, ethical supply chain partners.
We oversee every detail, ensuring quality control, consistency, and timely delivery. Sustainability is woven into every decision we make, from recycled and organic fabric options to circular end-of-life solutions.
We are proud to be a certified B Corp demonstrating our commitment to responsible business practices.

Your front-of-house team plays a key role in shaping how customers experience your brand.
We work with you to design retail uniforms that support approachability, consistency, and a polished in-store presence. From tailored blazers and blouses to branded scarves, belts, or name badges, every detail is considered to reflect your brand identity and store environment.
Depending on your requirements, we often recommend lightweight, breathable fabrics that help staff stay comfortable throughout the day, along with wrinkle-resistant finishes to help maintain a sharp look — shift after shift.
Behind-the-scenes teams keep retail moving.
We collaborate with clients to develop practical, smart-casual uniform options that align with your brand while supporting physical roles like stock handling or inventory tasks.
Options may include breathable fabrics, stretch panels for ease of movement, and reinforced stitching to stand up to daily wear — all tailored as part of your overall staff uniform design.
Retail leadership teams often need uniforms that reflect both authority and team cohesion.
We create store management uniforms with refined tailoring, subtle branding, and premium materials — helping managers stand out in the right way while staying visually connected to the broader team.

JSD first won the contract to create staff uniforms for the UK’s leading travel retailer, World Duty Free, and its 2000+ strong UK-based workforce in 2004.
Since then we have created three evolving ranges, consistently working in partnership with the retailer, which operates stores in 24 UK airports* plus Eurotunnel & St Pancras International
It is part of a global organisation with over 550 outlets in 20 countries across five continents. We review and update – and keep the look contemporary – while positioning the uniforms within the wider global brand. Our designs always reflect the group’s corporate aim ‘to offer the ultimate airport shopping experience’.
“The latest designs that JSD have created for our UK retail stores reflect the new global World Duty Free brand perfectly. They drive forward each redesign and make the process so easy for us – it’s a great 15 year partnership.”
World Duty Free likes the fact that we are pro-active in the way we manage each redesign and make the process easy for them. They know they can depend on JSD and that we understand their requirements – so they can get on with their job and we can get on with designing and delivering stylish uniforms for them, on time and on budget.
Our JSD team has a talent for designing bespoke corporate clothing that successfully promotes leading international brands, in styles we create exclusively for the UK market and body shape.
The latest World Duty Free redesign, which added selected new items to lift the existing range, co-ordinated with the launch of a distinctive new logo for the organisation’s global brand – a stylised butterfly in orange and black.
Our in-house designer incorporated a version of this new logo on just one product – the ladies’ scarf – to create a stylish repeat pattern in black and orange against a dark ground. The clients love it!
The orange is then used as subtle highlights elsewhere, to reinforce the brand.
The overall look is now ‘smart contemporary’ with black suits for both women and men in a poly/wool/Lycra. It’s a fabric that JSD often specifies for retail environments because of its durability and ease of movement. The three-button ladies’ jacket has rounded, soft lines – a relaxed feminine look, not too austere or too business like.
As an alternative to the jacket, we have introduced new knitwear for ladies, with a twinset in silver grey that has highlights of the brand orange. Soft, warm silver grey was selected for shirts, ties and blouses, replacing the beige of the previous range. The ladies’ blouse has been refined and now has an easy cutaway neckline. World Duty Free and its employees are delighted with the refreshed collection.
The new products in each evolving range are phased in as old stock runs low. World Duty Free places orders as employees require, and the retailer knows that our operational
