When Gucci launched its Gucci Beauty range, the Italian fashion house commissioned JSD to create a custom uniform for the in-store beauty consultants worthy of the Gucci name.

The designs benefited from JSD’s unique understanding of fashion, style and brand-building creativity, on the one hand, and practical fit, functionality, performance fabrics and on-the-job wearer well-being, on the other. JSD was also able to draw on extensive experience of working for other leading fashion and beauty brands, such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Guerlain, Lancôme and Liz Earle.

“During the uniform design process, we consulted closely with the Gucci Fashion House in Rome and Milan, and with their business partners P&G Prestige in Geneva,” says JSD Senior Production Manager Kam Gill. “We based the new uniform on existing Gucci fashion garments – but meeting the very specific needs of in-store beauticians and made from high-performance fabrics.”

The result is a minimal, black wardrobe integrating stylish separates for all genders: jackets, trousers, a cardigan, short and long-sleeved blouses, a shirt and tie, t-shirt and a polo. The response to the uniforms from Gucci, P&G Prestige, Gucci Beauty and, most important of all, the beauty consultants themselves has been outstanding.
