Private hospital provider, Nuffield, embarked on a major upgrade to create ultra-modern locations and a 5-star hotel look – within a professional and caring environment for patients and their families. And it made corporate workwear an integral part of that makeover. The same uniform designs had been in place for 10+ years and feedback showed that staff no longer enjoyed wearing them. JSD won the contract to design and supply uniforms for receptionists and administrative staff in 30 hospitals.

To meet the client’s request for a 5-star look, our JSD design team created a formal three-piece suit uniform: shirt/tie with waistcoat and jacket for front of house. The classic grey marl herringbone poly/wool/lycra tailoring combines with crisp white diagonal stripe shirting; an accent of colour – Nuffield green with silver and white – is carried through into scarves and ties.

The entire range launched over a two-week period, across 30 hospitals and to all front of house staff. The immediate response to the new designs – from them, their colleagues and patients – was immensely positive.

We are still contracted with Nuffield and the range has evolved since that first launch, to include a slim-line dress. JSD also consulted with the Matrons (effectively the Managing Directors of each hospital) to create their own bespoke corporate wear range. The Matrons had previously worn their own garments and it took time to reach a consensus on a design that suited all.

JSD consulted and worked with us at each stage of the design and development process for the new corporate clothing. the account manager they assigned is a major asset and her management has been exceptional. once the range was launched in our hospitals, the suiting JSD provided proved to be of an exceptional quality – our staff really are impressed!
