Exclusive Coworth Park, with its world famous polo grounds close to Windsor Great Park, is a Dorchester Collection hotel. Like others in that group, it is a landmark of prestige and comfort for guests accustomed to the finer things in life – blending the warmth and comfort of a traditional country house hotel with an eccentric spirit that is undeniably English and irrefutably modern. After JSD had successfully redeveloped an existing hotel uniform range for 45 Park Lane, the Dorchester Collection invited us to re-engineer all the garment ranges worn by front of house and housekeeping at Coworth Park.
Led by the dedicated JSD account manager, our team talked first to the Coworth Park management and to staff who were wearing the existing range, to get their feedback and discover where we could make improvements.
The Dorchester Collection wanted to keep the overall look, which was universally admired. Our task was to improve on wearability – both comfort and fit – and to produce garments that would be more durable, whilst still retaining and enhancing the luxury 5-star effect. JSD went through two sample stages to get it absolutely right, adapting the designs to produce considerable improvements over what had gone before.
A critical issue for Coworth Park in the past had been overly long lead times from uniform suppliers, that had impacted adversely on their operation. To solve that swiftly, we appointed a manufacturer in East London. We make up items in standard unit sizes and the hotel itself employs a tailor in-house to alter the garments as required.
We like the fact that we can place smaller and very frequent orders with JSD – we hold stock at Coworth Park and have the added reassurance that they also retain top-up stock in their own warehouse located close by.
